SA Aboriginal Health Innovation Launch Pad

SA Indigenous Health LaunchPad is an initiative between the Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Inc (AHCSA) and Yaitya Purruna, Indigenous Health Unit of the University of Adelaide

The LaunchPad is based on the highly successful community assistance scheme developed in Britain by the Young Foundation

The SA Indigenous Health LaunchPad may assist individuals, community members and Indigenous health service, University staff and students to find the resources to kick-start their community and research projects to help the health and well being of Indigenous South Australians

The LaunchPad model has been designed to add value to Indigenous health research in SA in the following ways:

  • Establish a community recognised central process by which individuals and communities can put forward ideas to create real health changes within their own communities,
  • Increase the likelihood of research and innovation being directly linked to a problem identified by a community,
  • Link the research capacity of Universities with the health problems experienced by Aboriginal peoples in South Australia in a manner in which health researchers are supported to work respectfully with communities to address practical health issues.
